Tilapia ’n’ chips with tartar sauce

Classic fish and chips recipes are usually made with cod or halibut, but Tilapia works just as well. All you need to do is dredge a few Regal Springs Tilapia loins in egg wash, flour and your go-to batter mix—and fry! The result? A light, crispy fried fish meal the whole family will enjoy.

  • 4 Regal Springs Tilapia loins
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ cup fish-fry batter mix
  • Tartar sauce for serving


  1. In a large pan, heat ½-inch canola oil over medium heat.

  2. Whisk water and egg together in a medium bowl to make egg wash.

  3. Cut Regal Springs Tilapia loins into 5-inch long pieces (about ¼-inch wide).

  4. Dredge each Tilapia piece in flour, dip in egg wash and dredge in dry batter mix.

  5. Pan-fry Tilapia in 350°F oil until golden and crispy

  6. Serve with your favorite side dish and tartar sauce.
