The planet isn’t in a good way.

But there are lots of things we (yes, we — we’re all in this together) can do to take better care of it.

Shopping local, for one. Reducing our food waste. Recycling. Taking shorter showers. Turning off light switches when we leave the room. Saying no to single-use plastics (think of the turtles).

And if you like turtles, you’ll also want to support responsible aquaculture. No turtles, or any other endangered species, become entrapped while we raise our tilapia. In fact, we have a long standing history of getting involved in the conservation of local habitats and endangered species. Individually, these things are a drop in the ocean when it comes to saving our planet, but together, they make a big impact.

Setting the record straight

There are plenty of unethical tilapia farms out there using irresponsible fishing practices and doing more environmental harm than good. Not on our watch.

We’ve always been about sustainability at The Healthy Fish Co. — right from the get-go. The last thing we want to do is diminish already threatened ocean fish stocks. That’s why we believe one of the best ingredients you can cook with is our responsibly raised tilapia fish.

Our tilapia fish are free to swim against the current in clean oxygen-rich lakes (a big factor in making them so healthy – and delicious!), and we work with local communities to restore the natural lake ecosystem through reforestation projects. Each year, we also support a range of sustainability activities along our beautiful lake shores, enriching the planet as well as the lives of the people that inhabit it.
